Christmas is different this year because of covid. Everyone started Christmas early this year to have joy in their lives. Normal traditions you do you can’t do. Little kids sitting on Santa's lap, looking at lights, spending time with all your family, festive things your town does together, and family Christmas games. People can’t go on vacations or handing out gifts doing some random acts of kindness. But people have found ways to still celebrate Christmas this year. Christmas is the time of year to be positive and grateful for everything you have. Covid has ruined that but people want to find some joy out of Christmas by decorating or sending gifts to loved ones. Thinking positively throughout this is what has worked. But one positive is that you can become closer with the family/friends you live with. Although this year has been different we have found alternative ways to celebrate. We have plexiglass glass in front of Santa so the kids can still have a picture with Santa. You can drive and see lights and send gifts to loved ones. You can also facetime or video call loved ones to see them.

Over the weekend we had a community event that took place in our Hagerman park. The Blast on the Grass Car show was filled with people from all around and there were so many different types of cars that were there. There were Mustangs, Corvette, Motorcycles, Cars that were built out of scraps of metal, and there were even cars there from different countries. There were over 150 different cars. They had booth sales, food, drinks, games, business opportunities to join in to, and there was even a playground for all the kids to play on.
The Blast on the Grass had awards for most of the cars there for their body build to the loudest engine to the style of the car. They also had a reward for the Mayor's Choice.

Sandee Bates is the owner of the Wild Sweet Peas Boutique in Hagerman Idaho. She lives in Hagerman and has four children and three grandchildren. She tells us that she has always wanted to own her own retail shop, and when her chance came around, she acted forward to get her a place on Main Street. She runs her store every day by sweeping the store, counting money that she makes, making sure all the lights work, the store's clothing is in order, and much more. Her busiest days are the first and the fifteenth, the store gets most of its people at noon. She gets people from all over to come to the store. She even gets regular customers from the Magic Valley area.
We all know that to sell a product, you have to buy or make that product. Sandee orders her products from Wholesale distributors and manufacturers. She also travels all over the U.S. to find inspiration to make her shop more likable to attract more people to come to her boutique. She just recently reached an important goal and bought her own property to build a new boutique. She also wants to expand her business by holding special events to help broaden her outreach.
Her favorite part about her business is meeting new people and making new friends. She also loves helping women feel beautiful and confident in what they are wearing. She would love for you to go down there and check out her shop so you can find the right things to wear with your style.
Her advice on falling in her steps as a business owner is, “Follow your dreams, they are worth it! Believe in yourself! Educate yourself! And... don’t just be something! Be the VERY BEST something!” There is one thing I have to say… if you're going shopping or trying something new. I suggest you go to Wild Sweet Peas Boutique and remember to follow your dreams and your passion.
