Why is Black Friday so Popular?

That time of year is coming up fast. Thanksgiving, when everyone starts buying their turkeys and warm clothes for the winter. This is the perfect time to present Black Friday. Everyone gets excited for warm clothes and snowy days.

Everyone knows what Black Friday is about but they don't know how it started. The first city in the U.S. to begin “ Black Friday” was Philadelphia. It all started when “pedestrians heading to the Army- Navy football game, looking for great deals” ( Black Friday History and Statistics). At a point they tried changing the name to Big Friday, to not make it sound negative. It all started in the 1960s, “ Black” means profit and “ red “ means loss.

As retailers realized that they made more profit out of “ Black Friday ''. Which made it very popular, so they made it a tradition. It's also better than last minute Christmas gifts.

Some bargain-hunters have been known to camp out in line for their favorite stores. Black Friday as you can tell is very important to parents getting discounts on their favorite items. But it's also important for retailers that make their market sales go up.

Today we are taught of the origins of Thanksgiving to be peaceful and a celebration of the native Americans having peace with the pilgrams. While this is taught in schools across the country, several resources have given us information that prove this story provided to us is fiction.

I remember in the 3rd grade we went to class and made turkey’s out of paper while the teacher talked about how the pilgrims settled down with the native Americans and had a huge feast, in which they indulged in pumpkin and sweet potato pie, stuffing, turkey, and dinner rolls. As I’ve grown older and figured out how to research information, I have figured out that this is false information.

First of all, the food was very different from what we have indulged in, such as, there was no pumpkin pie, or that there was no turkey, but there was another smaller poultry that was eaten. Second of all, the native Americans were not invited nor were they celebrated, only the leader was invited. The settlers did not come to make peace with the Native

The Seven Deadly Sins also known as Nanatsu no Taizai is an anime based off of the manga books written and drawn by Nakaba Suzuki. Manga basically is the Japanese version of comic books such as Marvel and DC. Now for anime, it’s just the short way of saying animation, but in Japan they call it anime instead of animation. Also for those who have watched Avatar: The Last Airbender, yes it’s an anime from Japan, but just with English voice actors.

The Seven Deadly Sins is one of these anime shows that’s in Japanese with English subtitles or just in English. Another thing about anime is that first they’re in Japanese then they add subtitles
