Hagerman High School is not like other high schools. They strive to help kids get into extracurricular activities; even if that means making new clubs. One of these clubs is a sewing club. There are very few people in this club, but for those two people, Hagerman made it possible and enjoyable. Dalli Elison, a member of Hagerman High School’s sewing club, was asked multiple questions about being involved in the club. One of these questions was, what is your favorite part about this sewing club? Her response to this question was, “My favorite part is being able to learn a new skill and to be able to hang out with my best friend.” Dalli is a very busy person, and sometimes there is no time to see her friend, Kinley. This sewing club is one way to connect with people, see friends, and learn new things. Hagerman High School’s sewing club meets up about once or twice a week. If anyone is wondering if they can join the club, or if they are too late to join, they are in luck and, “all you need to do is get ahold of Mrs. Owsley and ask to join.” Hagerman has made it possible for these two students to meet up, learn new things, and enjoy the company of a friend.

January 15, 2021, the Hagerman High School Drama club made a play called "Flirt Academy". Those who were a part of the play were seniors Kinley Whitmarsh and Ryan Nelson, Bryson Goodin, Mayson Miller, Dean Jenson, Lexie Turner, Noah Twitchel, and Dali Ellison. Bryson Goodin played as Mr. Knapp, trying to get students to learn to flirt which they are very bad at. I interviewed freshman Noah Twithcel who played as Jillie, about his experience of the play. He described the making of the play as challenging because of the different opinions of everyone. I asked him what his favorite part of the play was, he responded that it was dancing and that, “I made people laugh.”

December’s Students of the Month are two exceptional students: Carl Blake and Connor Walkins. When Carl, a freshman at Hagerman High School, was asked how he thought he was chosen as Student of the Month, he answered with, “By just working hard and keeping my grades up and staying caught up with my work.” Keeping your grades up, not falling behind on your work, and working hard is a very important thing needed to be successful in life, even if it may not seem like it at the moment. When Connor was asked who his role model was, he said, “Mr. Snider, my aid because he has always been there.” There are many people in life that you will encounter, but some just stick with you and leave an impression: just like Mr. Snider did with Connor. Congratulations to Carl and Connor for receiving student of the month.
