"I am a firm believer in luck and the harder I work the more I have of it".---Thomas Jefferson
This month’s Spotlight of the Month was Mr. Wadsworth. He was awarded Spotlight of the Month because he works hard and should be recognized for it. Mr. Wadsworth is the Principal of the Hagerman Jr./Sr. High School. His job requires him to “create a successful learning environment for students, staff, and faculty.” He does not only do this but so much more. He plans to make a school that offers necessary resources to students, where the staff feel important, and a place that students want to attend. On average, he works 12-14 hours a day, but occasionally, he will work for 24 hours straight. Covid-19 has had a huge impact on this year's school year. Mr. Wadsworth has had to make many changes in the way in which the school operates this year. He believes that “We have an intelligent student body and they are finding ways to stay educated and learn.” Covid-19 has not only impacted the lives of students and the school community, but also Mr. Wadsworth himself. When asked how Covid-19 has impacted him personally, his response was, “As a parent now, watching my children have to wear a mask, and keep their beautiful personalities covered with that mask, has been hard to watch.” Mr. Wadsworth has done so much for this school and deserves to be recognized for his hard work. Thank you for everything you do.
