Spotlight of the Month: Ms. Scott

For the month of May we chose Miss Scott to be the spotlight of the month. She has worked hard being the only art teacher for both the elementary and high school. Miss Scott is always a positive and creative person. I interviewed Miss Scott asking her a few questions to get to know her better as a person.

I had asked “So many students admire you. How do you make those connections?” She replied with “I think that the students realize that I care about them and their lives. Also, I think they see my human side - making messes and making mistakes and this helps me relate to them.”. I think this is a great quality to see in teachers, making mistakes is ok.

I had asked “Is there a quote or saying that you live your life by?” Miss Scott said “I hope that I treat others the way I would like to be treated. I think if everyone was more polite and showed more kindness, our world would be better. I recently listened to a book called Love Does and the author said to "Love Everyone Always''. “. I believe that this is a very strong and meaningful quote that others should also live by.

I also asked “What's your favorite memory from working at this school?” She answered with “One of my favorite memories is when the whole school did the 'sound of rain' exercise. The cheerleaders led us in clapping, snapping and it sounded so amazing! I, also, have lots of funny little kid memories.”. It’s nice to know that she enjoys the children and her job.

Miss Scott has made a big impact on our school and we are so thankful for her. Without her positivity and encouragement the school would be boring. Miss Scott has worked on many projects to help the students and the school.
