Here at Hagerman School, we have a Junior high Volleyball team. They had a game on Wednesday, October 14. They won both games 25/20 against Canvas. I interviewed a couple of the players on the team and how they enjoy volleyball, their lifestyle when they have volleyball season, and what they want to be in the future to come.
First, we have Cheyenne Corey. Cheyenne is 14 years old and is in 8th grade. For sports, she does Volleyball and Cheer. Her favorite position to play is outside hitter more than other positions. She practices volleyball four times a week, two hours a day for PE and practice. She says that she tries her best to keep up her grades and to do sports. She would play volleyball over other sports, she isn't a big fan of other sports. She would play cheer as well.
Volleyball practice sets her back an hour from doing chores and homework at home. It also affects her spending time with family and friends. In her free time, she hangouts with friends and tries her best to do her homework as much as she can. In the future, she would like to be an interior designer (a person who designs homes). She says she wouldn't find volleyball to become successful because that's not the way she wants her future to be like. “If I were you I would try volleyball because you may like it,” Corey says.
Next, we have Morgan Hiller. She says she is very talkative, bubbly, energetic, and mostly happy. She is in the 8th grade and lives in Hagerman, Idaho. Morgan likes to play outside hitter. She practices volleyball every day after school and sometimes she skips practices to make sure that her grades stay up so she can play volleyball. She works very hard to make sure her grades are good to play sports that she enjoys. She loves to play volleyball more than any other sport. She says that each sport has its season to play, and if there are two sports at once it does get difficult with grades so she tries to play one sport at a time.
If she has things to do at home then she has to wait to do them till she gets out of practice. It takes time away from family and doing things at home as well. In her free time at home, she has a passion to dance and practice cheerleading. She also hangs out with her friends and family. Morgan sees herself as successful and to become a cosmetologist (someone who does hair, nails, and skin perfection to help women feel beautiful). She says that volleyball can help her be successful in the future because she could get a college scholarship. Morgan says, “Volleyball is fun and can bring more opportunities into your future.”
Now we have Cheyanne Kerbs. Chyanne likes to play volleyball and softball. She is 13 years old and in 8th grade. She enjoys playing setter and practices volleyball 4 times a week. She manages her grades by going after school to get help from a teacher instead of going to practice. She says that most of the other girl sports aren't her thing and she likes volleyball so she sticks to this sport. She says the teammates feel like your family.
Volleyball takes away turning homework and doing chores at home. In her free time, she prefers to hang out with friends and family. She likes to go to the skatepark to have fun. In the future she sees herself going to college and then she wants to go to cosmetology school and build her own business or go
